Ingredients
Each of our products not only make bath time more fun, but also has benefits! Every ingredient has a purpose and has been chosen carefully. Our products are the complete package — raise your spirits with bright, fun bath colors, while also feeding your skin with moisturizing, beneficial ingredients.
99% Natural Collection
This collection is free from artificial fragrances and synthetic dyes. For the fragrances, we use pure essential oils and natural fragrance. For the colors, we use clays and fruit powders. The only ingredient that is not natural (the 1%) is polysorbate 80. This ingredient is necessary so the tub isn't slippery, especially considering the high amount of kokum and shea butters.
Baking Soda
Kaolin clay is a gentle, natural clay known for its mild cleansing and soothing properties. It helps softly absorb impurities while remaining gentle enough for sensitive skin.
Citric Acid
Citric acid is a powerful exfoliator. It unclogs pores and removes dead skin cells from the skin's surface.
Cornstarch
Cornstarch helps bind our bath bomb mixture together and creates an ultra-silky, smooth texture in the water. It's also gentle and soothing for sensitive skin.
Cream of Tartar
Cream of tartar helps harden bath bombs and gives them a smoother, more polished finish. It also extends the fizzing reaction, creating longer-lasting bubbles and fizz.
Sea Salt
Sea salt is packed with minerals that help soothe tired muscles and soften skin. It also adds a light, natural exfoliating touch to your bath.
Coconut Milk
Coconut milk is deeply moisturizing and helps nourish dry or sensitive skin. It leaves the water feeling silky soft and adds a subtle, luxurious richness to every soak.
SLSA
SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate) is a mild, plant-derived surfactant that creates gentle foaming bubbles. Unlike harsher sulfates like SLS, SLSA is much less irritating and safe for sensitive skin.
Kaolin Clay
Kaolin clay is a gentle, natural clay known for its mild cleansing and soothing properties. It helps softly absorb impurities while remaining gentle enough for sensitive skin.
Mica
We mainly use mica to airbrush color onto the top of our bath bombs. Mica is a natural mineral dust coated with pigments and has a shimmer effect.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
This is a mild, hydrating, and super gentle surfactant (creates bubbles & foam), naturally derived from coco-methyl esters. It has flash foam capabilities and bubbles up quickly. We use this as a secondary surfactant.
Polysorbate 80
Polysorbate 80 is a water-soluble emulsifier and helps oil and color mix into the water rather than pooling on top. It also prevents oils from clinging to the tub, which is important because oil on the bottom of the tub can make it slippery. Polysorbate 80 is a synthetic ingredient, but the small amount we use in our recipe is important to include.
FD&C Dyes
FD&C stands for The Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. All dye batches made for FD&C use have to be tested to meet minimum purity standards. If a batch passes that test, it becomes certified and sold as an FD&C grade dye — and must follow FDA guidelines from there. We make sure to use FDA-approved and certified dyes and lakes from trusted suppliers. Soaking in beautifully colored water has a positive psychological effect, too!
Fragrance Oils
We use skin-safe fragrance oils at a safe usage rate. We only use high-quality fragrance oils that are FDA-approved, skin-safe, and phthalate-free.
OUR PROMISE TO YOU...
NO Sulfates
An example of a sulfate you've probably heard of is SLS, a surfactant that can be irritating. We've chosen to use SLSa and SCI instead, which are mild, plant-derived surfactants. SCI even has the nickname "Baby Foam."
NO Parabens
Parabens are a group of preservative ingredients that are known to possibly be harmful. We use Optiphen, a paraben-free and formaldehyde-free preservative.
NO Phthalates
Phthalates have been linked to a number of harmful issues and can be found in many fragrance oils. We always use phthalate-free fragrance oils.
